Beautiful and tranquil campsite. Beyond the grapevines are fields of wild flowers and in between several ponds that are also suitable for swimming. Very friendly, helpful and flexible staff. Would recommend highly.

Spent 2 wonderful days staying in one of the Shepherds Huts which was so well-appointed with everything you may need. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings where you could really switch off!

A wonderful secluded camping spot in a beautiful meadow – a perfect weekend break. Thank you

August 2024

A small but beautiful campsite with pitches very well spaced and a pond to swim in too. Couldn’t ask for much more.

This was the most beautiful campsite I’ve ever been to! Torz and Nicola were so helpful, and we had a brilliant time all in all.

August 2024

Beautiful quiet idyllic spot with well spaced individual pitches around the wild flowers and ponds, plus firepit and wood available and electric hookup. Perfect for a short break.

August 2024

Stonepit Meadow is wonderful, it’s quiet, well organized and the pitches are well spaced, ensuring peace and privacy. We had a lovely stay there for three nights and will be returning again soon. Thank you so much for the hospitality and also for the excellent communication Nicola 🙂 Luke and Ally

August 2024

I booked all 3 Bell Tents and both shepherd huts to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends and family for the weekend. The communication from Bex was brilliant, and when we arrived we were greeted by a bottle of fizz and a lovely card! The bell tents are spacious, each has a king size bed but we also added a couple of blow up single beds for kids so the whole family could enjoy the experience. Each tent has some thoughtful finishing touches, and comes with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. You even get a bucket of logs, but we got through these on the first day so if staying for more than one night you might want extra! If you get caught out the garage in Sandhurst sells logs in sacks. The shepherd huts are beautifully appointed, clean and cosy, again with gorgeous finishes, the electric shower had excellent pressure and there is shampoo, conditioner and shower gel/hand soap in the bathrooms so you don’t need to bring your own. Each tent/hut is secluded with fencing in between the areas to keep it private whilst still being quite close by. The kids had an amazing time going feral and roaming the fields around the site, the location is peaceful and gorgeous. Bex was very quick to reply to enquiries (even a panicked message about logs at 6pm Saturday evening!) and really did pull out all the stops to make our stay special. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stonepit meadows to anyone, and we are already talking about booking it again for next year! Thank you very much to everyone who makes this place so special.

You get to choose your own pitch. Pitches isolated, with all nice views either over the ponds or wild flower meadows. Wonderful and quiet. Shower and toilet and washing area very clean and suit the environment. ( basic) Would stay here again.

August 2024

Clean facilities, level pitches, beautiful view. The wildflower view was incredible Lovely quiet area Toiletries provided You could see sooo many stars at night

August 2024

Tranquil little but spacious campsite. Particularly enjoyed the wild swimming in the lake. Clean facilities. Friendly and helpful staff.

August 2024

Great, communicative and helpful host! We absolutely loved our stay

August 2024

Absolutely beautiful! Quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. When a 5 year old says ‘this is beautiful, I want to live here’, that says it all! Cannot recommend enough! Will definitely stay again! Thank you

August 2024

We had a lovely weekend and would highly recommend the site to all our friends. It was lovely to walk around the grounds, especially around the vineyards. A great base for exploring the area. And the warm showers were a huge bonus! Thank you for a great stay – we’ll definitely be back!

August 2024

My boyfriend and I found this place a few days before our three year anniversary as a last minute staycation. We wanted something private, where we could feel like just me and him and this place fully gave us that. Not to mention the special touches we received as we mentioned it was our anniversary, which were so thoughtful from our host. The interior and exterior were absolutely gorgeous and the scent as we entered the hut we both loved. The area was filled with walks and lakes near by and inside was a takeaway guide, showing us nearby places. The communication from the host was immediate, and just what we needed as this is our first airbnb visit. Any uncertainties we had were answered clearly and quick which put us at ease. We lit the fire pit for the evening and provided with plenty of wood. Blankets and a hot water bottle were also provided for the colder evenings which was great. Overall, our experience was more than we could’ve asked for. Would highly recommend. Thank you 🙂

August 2024

Lovely, peaceful site, and our tent was clean and well equipped. Phone reception was virtually non-existent so the WiFi service appreciated so we weren’t completely ‘off grid’! Would thoroughly recommend.

JULY 2024

This place is amazing. We were lucky and had beautiful weather and the whole trip just felt like a dream to be honest! The wildflowers teeming with butterflies, the wild swimming pond, the beautiful tents, clean shower and toilet – perfection! We got some of the food hampers as well, which were great! Lots of locally sourced bits which was a nice touch! We thought our tent lights weren’t working and someone came right away to fix this (turns out I don’t know how solar powered lights work ha!) The heritage railway is nearby as well as lots of lovely walks. We also went to Camber Sands, which was lush – huge sandy beach with warm sea water!! Hot air balloon spotting from the campsite was a real treat! BOOK NOW! (The dog loved it too)

July 2024

Stone Pit meadows is the perfect location for a peaceful break. Everything has been really carefully thought through and it shows. The wildflower meadow and wildlife ponds offer great opportunities for nature lovers (we saw a kingfisher!) and the walk through the vineyards and woodland on forest is great for stretching your legs after a night in a tent.

July 2024

Wonderful stay to decompress from everything. Loved the fire pit and the cozy hut. Was bigger than it looked from the pictures and the hut had everything you need and was a fabulous location to reach the coast easily, and other Kent activities. Whilst the WiFi didn’t work, that was a good thing as you could detox from social media 🙂 Would recommend and stay again.

July 2024

Lovely spot, well thought out. Suited us perfectly for our one night stay.

August 2024

Great mini-cation! The hut was lovely, had everything you needed. It was peaceful, well worth the price. The weather was gorgeous. It did get a little hot in the hut but it was 29 degrees during the day! But good to keep in mind if you’re going on a hot day/weekend (bring a mini fan). The bed was SUPER comfy. And even though the other hut was occupied, it remained quiet throughout the stay. It’s a place we’d definitely recommend and would love to come back too. And the grounds are lovely for an even stroll too. Local shops a couple minutes from the hut and we ending going to the beach at Hastings, only took 35 minutes to get there so the location was spot on.

July 2024

Nothing not to like, all facilities where spot on, they cover everything, no need to pack extra or even basics you get the full package. Will be returning soon.

JUNE 2024

Loved our time there! Really great relaxing place set in the beautiful countryside! The shepherds hut had everything you could need in and lots to do in the local area! 🙂

JUNE 2024

We just wanted to let you know that we have left Stone Pit Meadows and look back on a wonderful time. We ended up visiting Rye yesterday and like you said, it was lovely. Thank you so much for accommodating us! Best regards, Thijmen and Eva

JULY 2024

A lovely setup for a short break. Everything was well organised and clear instructions on using the facilities. Would recommend for a short stay. Easy access to the vineyards for long walks a stone throw away.

JUNE 2024

Nicola was super helpful, pointing out places to eat/walk and was always very quick to respond to our many questions. The place itself was lovely! We felt right at home and very peaceful.

JUNE 2024

For my first time in Glamping, I’m lucky. The place is bucolic and nice. Accommodations are perfect ( bedding, toilets, showers, etc. )

JULY 2024

Beautiful stay, great hosts

JULY 2024

I visited Southdown shepherds hut for a weekend away by myself, to leave the stresses of life behind for a couple of nights. I was looking for peace and quiet and simplicity, and this is exactly what I got! The shepherds hut itself was fantastic – beautifully decorated and fitted with so many modern features whilst maintaining a rustic charm! I had everything I needed to make myself at home for the weekend. The location was so incredibly peaceful, away from everything, but still felt safe. I was lucky to get some sunshine and sit outside during my stay which was wonderful, but I was equally as happy curled up in the comfortable bed with a book listening to the rain on the roof! I cannot fault this lovely little hut, or Nicola’s communications answering my questions promptly … I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique countryside retreat!

July 2024

Oh Torz we have had the most amazing time! The whole place is incredible. We had a swim, walked around the fields and woods, saw hot air balloons and then…..the Northern Lights!!! Unbelievable! Thank you for the most incredible time, we are so very grateful.

CLARE – 2024

Stone Pit Meadows is an absolute gem! It’s super secluded, surrounded by the sounds of nature and lovely green fields. We stayed in one of the Bell Tents which was very nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable and warm. There’s a firepit for BBQ’s and very clean toilet and shower facilities. The sunset over the field was stunning, a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Also, the wild swimming lake is a blast! Would love to come back and bring more friends.

Dani – 2024

We had the best night at Stone Pit Meadows! It was a great place to escape the city and to be fully immersed in nature! The tents were kitted out perfectly with lovely decorations and all cooking equipment included. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

XENA – 2024

We had the best time! The hut is perfect. It’s cosy, has everything you could need and the firepit was great in the evening. The surrounding fields are beautiful and very peaceful. Nicola, Torz and Bex were super friendly and really helpful prior to our stay. We’ll definitely be back.

KATE – 2024

Very friendly hosts, helpful and attentive. I would recommend them anytime.

ANDREW – 2024

I had a lovely stay at Stone Pit Meadows. I was after a peaceful, solo getaway and that is what I got. I was lucky in that no one else was renting the other hut. There is an adjacent field with 3 ponds – I can imagine that in warmer weather that is a lovely place to relax. I went on a couple of walks – walking straight out from the hut, no need to drive anywhere. Nicola gave me some really helpful recommendations for places to walk. The hut was cosy and warm even though it was wet and cold outside. You pay a bit more for this hut compared to others but with that you get heating, a clean bathroom inside the hut, a well equipped kitchen – by far one of the most modern huts I’ve seen online.

Esme – 2024

The Southdown shepherds hut is the definition of small but perfectly formed! Beautifully decorated, the hut has everything you need – cosy bedding, a well stocked kitchen, a surprisingly luxuriously finished bathroom with lovely smelling Bramley toiletries, marshmallows for toasting on the fire, the list goes on. Stone Pit Meadows is also a wonderful setting – peaceful, birdsong radio on 24/7 (including owls and cuckoos) and public footpaths on your doorstep. We have loved our stay.

ALICE – 2024

Such a quirky and cosy little hut in a beautiful surrounding. We absolutely loved staying here, the hut was super clean and bed comfortable, so many essentials are provided which made it so easy to stay here. The fields, ponds and woodlands are all so stunning. A special stay for sure. Thank you 🙂

MELIS – 2024

Thank you for the most beautiful, relaxing, restful and tranquil stay in the most gorgeous place. What you’ve created here is a little slice of magic and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a much needed reset. We loved the balloons and bubbles too – so kind and so sweet. Love Holly x

HOLLY – 2024

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful shepherd’s hut! The cozy and charming accommodation was a perfect escape. The attention to detail in the design and amenities truly impressed us. Waking up to the serene countryside view was a delight. I appreciated the host’s hospitality and would highly recommend this unique Airbnb experience to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Jessica – 2023

Seeking a tranquil getaway from London’s bustle, I discovered this charming glamping hut. With only a day’s notice, the host’s exceptional responsiveness stood out. Her insightful recommendation to get a hamper’s box from the local store was a game-changer – the food was delectable, a must-try! Cooking over a pit fire, gazing at stars, exploring the winery, and meditating beside the lake became cherished moments. Nicola went above and beyond, ensuring I had essentials like coffee and firewood, and even offering a ride to the bus station. The retreat was idyllic, leaving me rejuvenated. A huge thank you, Nicola, for a memorable stay!

David – 2023

What a wonderful host. We had such an amazing stay. Calm. Relaxing. Just perfect. Thank you so much.

What a spot! Absolutely loved our stay and it was made all the more enjoyable to Nicola who made sure we were happy with everything. Couldn’t have asked for a better host. Can’t wait to come back and jump in the pond again!

Lewis – 2023

The shepherds hut was absolutely beautiful and in the most peaceful setting. It was clean, warm and with a wonderful hot powerful shower, the bed was really comfortable and the attention to detail was impeccable. Nicola was a fantastic host providing us with lots of recommendations for things to do locally. We had a bbq hamper arranged and the food was fantastic and Nicola even catered for me being a vegetarian, I would definitely recommend one. Thank you for the most perfect stay.

Kerri – 2023

Nicola was definitely a super host. Extremely helpful and proactive. Highly recommended

Rangel – 2023

Nicola was a fantastic host, responsive and super helpful when communicating both before and during my stay. The yurt itself has everything you need and is spotlessly clean. The bed is super comfy too! Overall a very relaxing stay and I cannot wait to come back with my dogs!

Regan – 2023

Exceptional. Nicola was there when I arrived, and stocked the bathroom with gorgeous Bramley products. Everything was perfect – every little detail had been considered. The hut has everything you need: cosy yet spacious, comfy bed, hot water, a good shower, super towels and ample cutlery to use and cook with.

The interior has beautiful wood finishing and effort has gone into making this a relaxing stay. You wake up to a gorgeous sunrises, the sounds of nature, you can walk in the meadows, which have been lovingly cared for. The wild ponds are truly inspiring, and one is great for swimming in, clean and peaceful. There is an abundance of wildlife, woods and beautiful wild flowers. There are vineyards nearby, perfect for walking, or yoga. Easy to get to nearby places like Rye or visit Chapel Down Vineyard. There is a local garage and a big supermarket about a 10 minute drive. Make a fire, stargaze, and fall asleep to owls and awesome sunsets.

Thank you Nicola!

Julia – 2023

Fantastic stay!, beautiful surroundings and host was very helpful and accommodating. We will be returning again!

Antony – 2023

Great hostess Will Be back, beautiful surroundings

Lucy 2023

Compact, cute and well-kitted out hut with comfortable sleeping area, kitchen and shower room. The yurts and shepherd’s huts were decently spaced out and all overlook the wildflower meadow so there was a good level of privacy between those staying. Stayed for a weekend but would have happily stayed longer given the peaceful setting. British summertime weather hampered the outdoor fire pit cooking somewhat but the 2x induction hob offered a solid back-up. Location gave easy access to walks around the vineyards and paths beyond. The swim pond made for a fun quick dip if you are hardy and not bothered by a bit of pond weed. Heading out by car, it’s well-located for places to visit in the High Weald (Bedgebury Pinetum, Bodiam Castle etc) and various farm shops for local food and drink options.

Rachel – 2023

We booked one of Nicola’s tents last minute for one night and had the most wonderful 17 hours in the beautiful meadow. We don’t have a car, but Nicola was super helpful advising on the walk from the bus stop – and kindly drove us back to it when we left. The tents come with everything you might require for a very comfortable camp, including a full size double bed, crockery and kitchen utensils, tea, coffee and a nice big coolbox freshly loaded with ice blocks. Each outdoor seating area has its own tap and two electricity sockets. The proper toilet and hot shower are located a short walk away, nice and tucked away but well signposted by solar lights. We and our dog loved every minute and would happily return immediately. Thanks so much, Nicola!

Mary – 2023

Lovely location, slept so well… we had a little swim in the lake which was fab…. So much land for our doggies and it was just so peaceful… just what we needed after a few stressful months…. Nicola was amazing and we most definitely will be going back… loved it 💛

Rachel – 2023

Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Nicola made the check in process and stay seamless. Family and baby friendly. Has all the comforts one could hope for, in the serene countryside. Would highly recommend, we shall be coming back for another stay soon!

Anvesh – 2023

Thoroughly recommend

Kathryn – 2023

Our weekend stay at Nicola’s shepherds hut was perfect. The place has been beautifully and thoughtfully finished, the setting was peaceful and picturesque, the nights sky was clear from very little light pollution and there were lots of places to visit all around. Nicola is a great host and made us feel relaxed and at ease when she met us to show us to the hut and give us information for our stay. Will definitely visit again.

Leonie – 2023

The site is stunning; the bell tents are set up in the middle of a beautiful and incredibly peaceful meadow with surrounding ponds and vineyards. We loved exploring the area and enjoyed feeding the coots with the feed supplied in out tent. Even with two other bell tents on the site, we felt far enough away to enjoy complete privacy. The tents are clean and cosy inside, with a comfy airbed, battery tea light candles and a jar of giant marshmallows to toast. Nicola is an absolutely lovely host who made us feel so welcome. We also ordered two hampers; which were fantastic. Nicola dropped them off for us just after we arrived, and we cooked a delicious meal on the firepit. I really recommend ordering some for your stay!

Molly

We stayed here for our wedding night and from day one Nicola has been outstanding. From arranging late arrival to the finer details that we wanted in our tepee. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be booking again.

James

I absolutely loved the tents, really enjoyed sitting at the firepit and looking at the stars, very clean, I would very highly recommend this location.

Samin

We had an amazing stay here this weekend. The tepee’s are so pretty, very cosy and have everything we needed. The bed is so comfy and we had such a good sleep. The amenities in the tepee were above and beyond expectations – marshmallows, tea, coffee, BBQ equipment. The showers have amazing vegan products and the shower and toilet are spotless. We were in the furthest tepee from the toilet and shower but it was still only a very quick walk away and the path was lit by solar lights. There was also a bright lamp in the tepee which we could take if we needed. The walk was also really nice, past the ponds. We stayed on a clear night and due to the rural location the stars were the brightest we have ever seen in the UK, we even saw 5 shooting stars! Nicola was an amazing host. Helped us take our bags to our tepee in her car as the drive to the tepee from the entrance was very muddy (all out of Nicola’s control!). Amazing to have her help and all completely out of the goodness of her heart. She was always quick to reply and in contact to see if we needed anything, she offered to do our washing up and was overall amazing. You can tell Nicola has really put her heart into all of this, and all the little touches make a huge difference. What makes this trip so magical is the little touches she has provided and we couldn’t have asked for a more lovely place to stay. Beautiful views, incredible tepee and lovely places nearby. We will be recommending this to our friends and hope to see Nicola and the meadow at some point in the future. Thank you for a truly magical stay xxx

Amy

Well, what a beautiful location and quiet space for some serious downtime.

The site was really well located with plenty of outdoor activities to look at, particularly with the boating station only a few minutes drive down the road and lots of walking options. We spent 3 nights at SPM with our dog and it was so nice to have the peace and quiet and feel like we were really there on our own. If you like the darker skies, we had a beautiful view of many more stars than we would normally see during the evening.

There were 2 other tents (only one occupied), but as the tents are cut into spaces in the meadow, you really can’t see much of them.

The tents themselves are surprisingly spacious, with a double bed, room for bags, a trunk, cupboards and our rather large fluff bag of a dog. The air bed needed a little pumping (show me one that doesn’t…) but was really comfy to sleep on. Care has clearly been taken to make it feel homely, with rugs, deck chairs for outside, cushions, small battery and solar powered ambient candle lights.

We did have significant rain during our stay – we were dry throughout inside – but Nicola and Toby were on hand to keep us clean and assist with moving luggage back to our car.

The shower and toilet shacks were pretty cool, and showering during a rain shower with the noise of the rain was really quite nice. Would definitely return, highly recommend.

Gareth

Best weekend! Stone Pit Meadows is amazing. Nicola has set up the bell tents perfectly, plenty of room, everything you need and honestly feels like you’re in a slice of your own heaven. The toilet and washing facilities are excellent, never seen anything so nice camping! Super dog friendly, our senior dog Dolly (not a fan of being outside or walking) absolutely LOVED it! Nicola gave us tips on great walking routes that would be good for Dolly and made sure that we had everything we needed. Can’t fault one thing about our whole stay, wish we’d booked for more than just 2 nights. Already planning our return and hope to make at least an annual trip back forever. Don’t hesitate book Stone Pit Meadows! You won’t regret it!

Hanna

Such a beautiful place to stay. The quality and attention to detail is amazing. Definitely recommend checking out the hampers, we had the BBQ hamper and it was delicious. The tents are nicely spread out so it feels like you’re alone. Nicola is a great host and communication is spot on. Definitely would love to stay again.

Harriet

Loved the care you put into this place. Will recommend to friends and family.

Lori

We had the most perfect stay in Little Cosy for 2 nights with our 4 month old baby for his first holiday. He absolutely loved it, as did we. The location is so tranquil and he was mesmerised by the pond! The tents have everything you need, and the shower and loo was immaculate! The local village of Newenden is very sweet and we fell in love with Lime Wharf Café and its chilled vibe after we took our paddleboard up the river. We would love to come back again next year!
