Guests can take a wander around the ancient woodland, vines and wildflower meadows, enjoy a refreshing dip in our wild swimming pond and then end the day sipping a glass of wine around a blazing firepit whilst gazing up at the clearest and darkest of starry night skies.
Stone Pit Meadows offers only 2 custom built Shepherds Huts and 3 Bell Tents, all furnished to a high standard and with their own private outdoor seating areas, so a luxury stay in peaceful surroundings is guaranteed.
Explore the medieval High Weald AONB
Guests at Stone Pit Meadows are afforded unfettered exploration rights around 12 acres of ancient woodland, ponds and wildflower meadows – rolling countryside that typifies the High Weald AONB landscape.
Getting further afield could not be simpler. A public footpath runs adjacent to the site, so guests can easily access routes on foot through the stunning AONB landscape that surrounds the meadows, with quality watering holes within walking distance to be found in every direction!
The site is surrounded by numerous sites of historic interest, as well as steam trains, castles, vineyards and much more. A water sports centre on the River Rother offering kayaking, paddleboarding etc is only 2 miles away, whilst the iconic Cinque Port town of Rye is within a 20 minute drive.

Stone Pit Meadows is an absolute gem! It’s super secluded, surrounded by the sounds of nature and lovely green fields. We stayed in one of the Bell Tents which was very nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable and warm. There’s a firepit for BBQ’s and very clean toilet and shower facilities. The sunset over the field was stunning, a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Also, the wild swimming lake is a blast! Would love to come back and bring more friends.

We had the best time! The hut is perfect. It’s cosy, has everything you could need and the firepit was great in the evening. The surrounding fields are beautiful and very peaceful. Nicola, Torz and Bex were super friendly and really helpful prior to our stay. We’ll definitely be back.

Oh Torz we have had the most amazing time! The whole place is incredible. We had a swim, walked around the fields and woods, saw hot air balloons and then…the Northern Lights!!! Unbelievable! Thank you for the most incredible time, we are so very grateful.
